Stock Investing

Investment was once something thought of as what rich people do. Today, investing plays a key role in the financial well-being of millions of Americans. The Securities Industry Association has stated, “the growth in individual investor participation has risen from 30.2 million U.S. shareowners in 1980 to 84.3 million in 2002.” According to a survey published by the Investment Company Institute and the Securities Industry Association, the latter figure encompasses 49.5 percent of U.S. households. Directly investing in stocks, investing in mutual funds and participation in 401K and Roth IRA retirement plans are the most popular methods of stock investing for individual investors.

Throughout our Stock & Bond Investing section we offer links to valuable stock market tools and resources. In order to better serve your investment needs, we have also chosen to affiliate with Elliott Wave International, a trusted leader in financial market information and forecasting. EWI, with Robert Prechter at the helm, has long been known to us and is well-recognized by the international financial community. Prechter’s books provide new, fresh insight to stock market behavior and its role in U.S. and world economies and socio-dynamics. Having read some of these books myself, I highly recommend them.

In addition to books on stock market behavior, Elliott Wave International provides a wealth of current, in-depth stock market research, investment news and market commentary. Investors can gain access to some of this valuable stock market research for free simply by signing up for Club EWI. Once you see the content that is provided, you will be very glad you made the decision to join.
